Description
Meall Greigh in Perthshire overlooks snowy mountain ridges from a large stone cairn, with gold upland grass and scattered boulders beneath orange clouds in the low light of a winter evening.
This 1,001 metre Munro marks the eastern end of the Ben Lawers range. Its broad slopes are commonly traversed on the way to Meall Garbh, with longer routes continuing towards An Stùc and Ben Lawers. With higher summits lying to the west, the eastern outlook extends over a wide area.
Meall Greigh has a large rough cairn above scattered grey blocks and strips of white snow. Gold grass stretches towards a deep corrie enclosed by pale mountain crests. Snow fans down dark gullies on each ridge, leaving warmer brown shoulders exposed. A low sun and orange cloud banks suggest a clear winter evening across the high ground.
