Description
Murthwaite’s converging railway tracks create a quiet sense of departure, drawing the eye towards the wooded hills beyond the old trackside sheds, beneath a wide, cloud-streaked sky.
Gravel ballast and parallel rails fill the lower view before narrowing between small sheds and stacks of dark sleepers. Trees close in from both sides, then give way to lighter fields and layered hills. Above them, thin clouds cross a broad blue sky in the fading light.
The railway details give Murthwaite a strong connection to journeys through the Cumbrian countryside. Anyone who has travelled by rail in the area may recognise this pause between built trackside structures and the open slopes beyond. The rails remain the strongest lines throughout the view.
