Description
Mynydd Graig Goch in Gwynedd glows above a long pale lake, with purple crags, lichen-marked foreground boulders and gold grass under a warm evening sky in the Welsh hills.
At the western end of the Nantlle Ridge, this Eryri summit stands just above the 2,000-foot threshold. A precise survey in 2008 established its height at 609.75 metres. It forms a subsidiary summit of Craig Cwm Silyn, above the surrounding Gwynedd countryside.
A broad purple cliff occupies the middle distance, dropping towards a long strip of pale water on the right. Nearer boulders lie among sunlit orange grass, with pale lichen tracing their rough faces. Pointed blue-purple mountains rise behind the lower slopes. Warm evening light spreads across Mynydd Graig Goch, separating the bright foreground from the cooler rock walls beyond.
