Description
Oxleas Wood frames the distant O2 and London skyline beneath an old spreading tree, giving this Greenwich view the calm of parkland with the city held beyond it.
A heavy dark trunk rises from the left and sends branches across the upper sky, its leaves casting broken shade over a narrow earth path. The ground falls through layered green crowns towards the pale dome and yellow masts of the O2. Blue-grey towers gather on the far horizon beyond the open park.
Oxleas Wood offers a different approach to London, where a short walk can move from woodland cover to a long view across Greenwich. Those familiar with the area may recognise how the distant arena and skyline place the trees within the wider sweep of the capital.
