Description
Pass of Killiecrankie in Perthshire follows a blue river between dense green woods, with curving railway tracks and pale gravel banks below purple hills in warm late summer afternoon light.
This wooded pass follows the River Garry through the Perthshire hills. The gorge is associated with the battle of 1689 and Soldier’s Leap, where a fleeing government soldier crossed the river. Woodland paths connect its historic sites, passing the Victorian railway viaduct above the riverside corridor.
Pass of Killiecrankie opens along blue water beside a broad pale gravel bank. Railway tracks curve through the trees on the left, while a long viaduct crosses the wooded middle slope. Dark conifers form repeated points above lighter leafy canopies. Purple shrubs and grey rocks occupy the near hillside beneath pale clouds, suggesting a warm afternoon late in summer.
