Description
Primrose Hill in north London sets a broad green slope against distant towers, with crossing paths and long tree shadows giving the city panorama an unusually open foreground.
North of Regent's Park, Primrose Hill provides an elevated outlook across central London from its almost 63 metre summit. The Royal Parks manages the site and keeps the trees low enough to preserve the celebrated view towards the capital's distant buildings.
The grassy slope descends past a large leafy tree towards a belt of woodland. Beyond it, a narrow skyline includes a pointed glass tower, a tall communications mast and a small observation wheel. Pale paths crisscross the lawn, dotted with tiny figures. Fresh greens, high white clouds and strong shadows suggest a clear summer day with excellent visibility.
