This woodblock print originates from the album Prospects and Views, Picture Album of Landscapes (Shōkei chōbō, Sansui gafu), authored by the artist Kōkunsai Bairin. The work belongs to the tradition of Japanese landscape illustration, which prioritised the balance between human activity and the natural world.
