This process, which he termed 'action painting', emphasised the physical act of creation. 'Reflection of the Big Dipper' exemplifies Pollock's signature style. A complex network of black lines dominates the composition, interspersed with pools and splatters of yellow, white, and hints of red and blue. The layering creates a sense of depth, despite the overall flatness.
