Description
Richmond in southwest London offers a tranquil Thames outlook, where a chain of white boats and a pale arched bridge draw the eye between lush green banks.
On the Thames in southwest London, Richmond is associated with a celebrated hilltop outlook over the river. The surrounding landscape gained statutory protection in 1902, preserving the open spaces of Petersham and Ham and their relationship with the water.
Here the viewpoint sits close to the bank, looking along a line of moored motorboats towards a pale stone bridge. White hulls and dark canopies break the green reflections beneath tall trees.
