Description
River Farrar in Highland Strathfarrar bends through deep blue reflections below bare birches and gold moor, with a distant snowy crown beneath bright clouds on a clear early spring day.
River Farrar flows through Glen Strathfarrar, carrying water from the Loch Monar catchment and Loch Beannacharan. Near Struy it joins the River Glass to form the Beauly. Its mountain valley is also part of the Affric Beauly hydroelectric scheme, linking upper lochs with underground power stations along the glen.
A pale birch rises from the near bank above dark blue water and scattered shore stones. Farther upstream, russet trees and green pasture reflect in the broad bend. Gold moorland slopes lead towards rounded purple mountains, with snow remaining on a distant central crown. A pale road crosses the right bank, while bright cloud gaps suggest clear early spring sunshine through the bare branches.
