Description
River Lochay winds beneath a low old stone bridge, with dark pines and a steep Highland peak holding the quiet waterway between shaded rocks.
Broad boulders press close to the banks in the foreground, flecked with moss and reflected in blue-grey water. The bridge carries two high arches across the river, while a tall pine frames the right side. Behind it, pale slopes fold beneath a clouded sky and a smaller stand of conifers occupies the left bank.
River Lochay can recall the sound of water slowing below a bridge and the cool shade of the trees beside it. For residents or visitors moving through this part of Stirling, the scene keeps together river, hillside and road crossing. The still surface carries the mountain and pine into the foreground.
