Description
River Lugg in Herefordshire reflects a pale church tower and red brick house, with leafy banks, pink flowers and still blue-green water beneath the soft clouds of summer.
Rising in the hills of Powys near Llangynllo, this river passes Presteigne and Leominster before reaching the Wye at Mordiford. Its course links the Welsh border uplands with Herefordshire's lower valleys, and the river has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
At the River Lugg, a square church tower with a pyramidal cap rises behind a clipped hedge. A red brick house stands farther left among full green trees. The buildings and foliage cast long reflections across calm water, edged by white flower heads and pink blooms. Warm stone colours and light cloud suggest an unhurried afternoon in midsummer.
