Description
River Severn brings a pale iron arch bridge across calm water, with a nearby hillside village and church tower rising among the trees beyond.
The river carries broken blue and silver reflections beneath the bridge, whose slim metal ribs curve between substantial stone piers. Behind it, steep woodland encloses white houses, a square tower and a small arched stone structure at the water's edge. Farther left, patchwork slopes lift towards a bank of bright cloud.
Anyone who knows the River Severn in Powys may respond to the way water and settlement occupy the same narrow view. The bridge makes a direct route across the current, while the wooded rise and clustered roofs give the scene the scale of a lived-in riverside place.
