Description
River Trent in eastern England spreads below a distant church and green fields, with a small navigation beacon above still blue water and tawny reeds catching the soft afternoon light.
From its source near Biddulph Moor in Staffordshire, this major river crosses the Midlands before reaching the Humber. At Trent Falls it meets the Yorkshire Ouse, creating the tidal estuary that carries their combined water towards the North Sea.
The wide River Trent occupies the centre below a low rural skyline. A church tower rises among pale houses and red roofs beyond green fields. Across the water, a stone training wall supports a slender navigation beacon. Tawny reeds sweep through the foreground, while the blue surface and cream-lilac clouds suggest a mild afternoon towards the close of summer.
