Annibale Carracci (1560-1609) was an Italian painter and printmaker of the late Renaissance/early Baroque period. Carracci's work is characterised by its emphasis on naturalism, clarity, and emotional expression. He drew inspiration from the art of antiquity and the High Renaissance masters, particularly Raphael and Michelangelo. His influence extended to many subsequent generations of artists.
