Description
Sanna Bay on the Highland Ardnamurchan peninsula curves through pale dunes and turquoise surf, with dark shore rocks and rounded green hills under a broad, cloud scattered summer sky.
Sanna Bay lies near the western end of Ardnamurchan, where several sandy beaches are backed by dunes and machair grassland. Coastal walking routes link the sands with Portuairk and Sanna Point. Clear weather opens views towards the Small Isles, including Muck, Eigg and the mountainous profile of Rum.
Wind swept dune grass fills the near bank above a chain of dark rocks. Thin white waves curl around the pale beach before breaking across turquoise shallows. Two small white houses stand below low green hills, whose grey outcrops catch the sun. Tall cloud banks leave a wide blue opening overhead, suggesting a fresh bright day in the middle of summer.
