Description
Seacliff Beach in East Lothian sends white surf around dark foreground rocks, with Bass Rock on the horizon and a distant sailing boat beneath bright clouds and falling shafts of rain.
Near Auldhame, south of North Berwick, this sandy shore looks towards Bass Rock in the Firth of Forth. A tiny Victorian harbour was cut into sandstone at the bay's western end, while the wider coastal setting includes views of medieval Tantallon Castle.
At Seacliff Beach, two dark rocks emerge through thin water and branching foam on pale sand. A long green-blue wave breaks across the middle ground. Bass Rock rises on the left horizon, with a small white building near its base. A distant yacht sits below rain-streaked cloud, while bright blue openings suggest changeable weather on a summer afternoon.
