Description
Seana Bhraigh in the Highland northwest drops a ribbed cliff face towards dark corrie water, with pale foreground boulders and russet heather beneath cream clouds in clear late summer light.
Seana Bhraigh reaches 926 metres on the edge of an undulating plateau east of Ullapool. The summit stands above Luchd Choire, where steep crags give the remote mountain its distinctive character. Approaches come from Inverlael or through Strath Mulzie from Oykel Bridge, across long stretches of open upland country.
A long level rim breaks into tall grey ribs and narrow gullies above two dark lobes of water. Pale scree slopes run down towards the corrie floor, while distant rounded hills appear beyond the cliff edge. Large layered boulders rest among gold grass and rust coloured heather in front. Warm light and snowless ground suggest a bright late summer interval high above the lochans.
