Description
Sgurr an Doire Leathain in Highland Kintail carries a sharp green crest above shadowed rock, with small snow ribbons and distant blue mountains beneath bright white clouds in late spring light.
This 1,010 metre Munro belongs to the long South Glen Shiel ridge, also called the South Cluanie ridge. Its summit projects north from the main crest on a short spur. The traverse links seven Munros, with steep northern corries contrasting with the gentler slopes falling towards the southern glens.
Sgurr an Doire Leathain rises along a narrow green crest with dark crags down its right face. Small white snow ribbons rest in sheltered hollows between grey rock ribs. Low boulders break the near grassy bank, while successive blue mountains recede towards a water glimpse at far right. Bright cloud edges and fresh green slopes suggest clear weather during the late spring thaw.
