Description
Sgùrr na Feartaig in Highland Glen Carron curves above a steep ribbed corrie, with pale boulders across the near grass and sharp distant mountains beneath long cream clouds in summer sunshine.
This 862 metre Corbett forms a long ridge enclosing much of Glen Carron’s southern side. A stalkers’ path follows the crest, reached from Allt a’ Chonais or Bealach Bhearnais. Another approach crosses the pass at Baobh bhacan Dubha, whose northern side descends particularly steeply towards the glen.
Sgùrr na Feartaig sweeps around a deep hollow lined with grey rock ribs. Narrow green shelves interrupt the steep face, while sunlit grass follows the broad upper rim towards a sharp distant peak. Large pale blocks lie across the near slope. Long cream clouds stretch above the clear blue skyline, suggesting steady summer sunshine over the dry, snowless mountain ground.
