Description
Sgùrr na Ruaidhe in Highland Strathfarrar rises beyond a broad grassy crest, with dark corrie gullies and lingering snow above grey foreground rocks beneath bright clouds in late spring sunshine.
This 993 metre Munro belongs to the group of four above Glen Strathfarrar. Its rounded summit carries spongy mosses, with eastern views towards the Cromarty and Beauly Firths. The usual circuit approaches from the glen, while northern access crosses the remote upper reaches of Glen Orrin.
Sgùrr na Ruaidhe rises beyond a broad green crest edged with pale grey rocks. Dark gullies cut the steeper face on the left, with small snow patches tucked beneath the upper ridge. More distant hills appear at either side of the main crown. Bright broken clouds, sunlit grass and lingering high snow suggest settled weather towards the end of spring.
