Description
Sgurr nan Eag on Highland Skye forms a jagged grey skyline above a deep rocky corrie, with green shelves and a dark blue loch below bright clouds in clear summer sunshine.
Sgurr nan Eag rises to 924 metres at the southern end of Skye’s Cuillin Munros. The ridge continues towards the terminal peak of Gars bheinn above the sea. Approaches reach Bealach a’ Garbh Choire from Coire Ghrunnda or cross extremely rough boulder ground from the Coruisk side.
A long jagged crown encloses a broad corrie of grey rock ribs and green ledges. Small gullies and rounded outcrops step down towards dark blue water in the lower right hollow. A fine burn winds through the grassy floor before reaching the loch. Nearer dark boulders and dry green turf occupy the sloping foreground beneath a bright, cloud scattered summer sky.
