Description
South Landing looks across turquoise water to a sheer coastal arch, where a narrow pebbled cove sits beneath a high line of weathered white cliffs.
Pale rock walls are cut by vertical fissures and a broad opening at the waterline. The shingle shore bends beneath the headland, with foamy lines meeting bands of clear blue sea. Low plants and small white flowers cover the foreground bank, while a high cloud bank lies over the horizon.
Visitors at South Landing can take in the coast from the clifftop before moving down towards the beach. The scene suits anyone drawn to the changing meeting of exposed stone and the North Sea, and gives regular walkers a familiar point of reference along the Flamborough shore.
