Description
The South West Coast Path winds above a sheltered cove, where a chalk arch, clear blue water and a narrow beach meet flowered slopes.
A stony path runs down the green cliffside, marked by a line of simple timber posts and rope. Below, a narrow sweep of pale beach curves around a turquoise cove, edged by white chalk. A large natural arch projects into the open sea, while bands of foam trace the shore and flat-painted clouds stretch across the blue sky.
For walkers and coast lovers, the South West Coast Path is distilled here into the useful pleasures of a high viewpoint: sea air, a clear route and the changing line of the shore. The arch provides a memorable anchor beyond the cove, and the path invites the eye back through flowers and rough ground towards the foreground.
