This work exemplifies his involvement in the Purist movement, which he co-founded with Amédée Ozenfant. Purism rejected the complexities of Cubism, advocating for a return to simplified, geometric forms and the celebration of machine-age aesthetics. The composition features a collection of everyday objects, including a guitar, bottles, and dishware, rendered in a precise, almost clinical manner. The colour palette is restrained, dominated by muted tones of brown, grey, and blue, which further enhances the sense of order and clarity.
