Description
Stob a' Choire Odhair in Highland Black Mount rises above a green glen and scattered blue lochans, with pale ridge slabs beneath far mountain layers in clear light on a summer afternoon.
This 945 metre Munro forms a broad dome above Rannoch Moor, overlooking its extensive network of small lochs. A route from Victoria Bridge combines the summit with Stob Ghabhar. The longer Black Mount traverse continues over connecting ridges towards Clach Liathad, Creise and Meall a’ Bhùiridh.
Stob a' Choire Odhair rises in a green rounded crown above a steep grey slabbed face. A narrow burn winds down the left glen towards open ground, with scattered blue waters across the distant moor. Pale foreground rocks break the grassy slope. Layered mountains fade towards the horizon under broken cream clouds, suggesting clear summer afternoon air above the broad uplands.
