Description
Storrington in West Sussex stands below the South Downs, with clustered village roofs and leafy fields spreading towards a long chalk ridge in this broad green countryside panorama.
Storrington lies on the northern side of the South Downs within the parish of Storrington and Sullington. Much of its centre is a conservation area, and its position near the middle of the South Downs Way makes it a useful base for exploring the hills.
From a grassy foreground, the view opens across dense trees to bands of pale houses and red roofs. A low stone building with a dark roof stands among the nearer gardens, while taller narrow trees mark the settlement farther back. Fields and hedges lead towards a rounded ridge streaked with sunlight. White verge flowers and full green crowns suggest early summer beneath a clear sky.
