Description
Teviotdale stretches beyond a rough stone wall, where golden grass and sunlit farmland lead towards a small group of distant peaks beneath a wide, clouded sky.
Across Teviotdale, hedges divide the cultivated valley into long, gently sloping parcels. Trees gather along the boundaries, breaking up the open ground below the Eildon Hills. Their low profile sits on the far horizon, beyond successive belts of green.
Warm ochre spreads over the nearest fields, meeting darker foliage along their edges. Closer still, angular stones emerge from tall grasses, with deep shadows between the blocks. Cream light catches the underside of broad grey clouds above a blue sky. The repeated horizontal bands give the view its depth, keeping the distant hills at the scale of a familiar rural outlook.
