Description
The Drovers Inn, Inverarnan stands at the northern end of Loch Lomond in Argyll, a historic roadside inn associated with more than three centuries of Highland hospitality.
Dating its history to 1705, the inn occupies a position beyond the northern tip of the loch beside the route towards Crianlarich. This long established stopping place links the lochside journey with the surrounding Highland country, where steep slopes rise beyond the settlement.
The Drovers Inn, Inverarnan appears as a long pale stone building against dense woodland. Slate roofs and small dormer windows face an open green meadow, with broad blue water across the foreground. Grey crags interrupt the smooth green hills above the trees. Full foliage and clear white clouds suggest a mild summer afternoon, leaving the building partly shaded beneath the wooded slope.
