Description
Traeth Mawr follows a long pale beach beneath steep green cliffs, where soft surf and heathered banks make a calm Welsh coastal prospect from the higher ground.
Purple flowering plants and coarse grass cover the near slope above a broad sweep of sand. Thin white wave lines cross the blue water, while exposed rock bands break the face of the headland and continue towards a hazy distant shore. Soft clouds open across the upper sky.
For anyone familiar with Traeth Mawr, this view brings the scale of the bay into relation with the close plants and path-side ground. It recalls a slow approach along the coast, with beach, cliff and water held together below the ridge nearby.
