Description
Foam curls along Tràigh Hòrnais on the North Uist coast, where pale dunes overlook turquoise shallows and scattered seaweed follows the wide, sunlit edge of this Hebridean beach.
This shore forms part of Clachan Sands on North Uist in the Scottish island chain. The broad beach is backed by dunes and flower-rich machair. A coastal walk follows the sand, with the neighbouring shore of Tràigh Lingeigh lying to the north.
At Tràigh Hòrnais, the water curves from the lower right towards a low distant headland. Fine foam marks the shallow waves, separating blue-green sea from warm cream sand. Brown seaweed lies in small clusters along the tideline. Long grasses rise at the near dune edge, with low blue hills beyond the beach under a spacious cloud-filled sky.
