Description
Tryfan is framed by a sharply ridged mountain above a rushing rocky stream, bringing the drama of Welsh uplands into focus through cool stone, dark pines and falling water.
Stepped cascades cut through large grey boulders in the foreground, then narrow into a valley of dense conifers. The summit rises in broad, angular faces beyond the trees, with smaller peaks receding under broken cloud. Heather adds muted purple along the lower slopes.
Anyone who has walked beneath Tryfan will recognise the pull between the rough ground close by and the high crags ahead. The view holds the kind of stop made beside a beck, before the route turns uphill through the valley. It makes room for the sound of water and the first sight of the summit from below.
