Description
Wide grassy slopes around Twatt in Shetland fall towards blue sea inlets, with scattered white crofts, soft distant hills and tall clouds opening above the quiet rural scene.
Twatt is a locality on Mainland in the Shetland Islands, Scotland. The surrounding moorland near Tumblin gives a view along Sandsound Voe. From the B9071, the land falls towards the inlet through a broad spread of low, open slopes.
Bright green fields stretch towards the water, divided by darker bands of rough grass. A small white croft and its low outbuilding sit below the centre-right slope. Pale houses dot the far shores, where overlapping headlands narrow the blue channel. Distant hills fade into a cool haze beneath the large cream clouds.
