Tweed Valley follows a broad, reflective river beneath a pale stone bridge, with a roofless church emerging from woodland against the ordered fields of the Scottish Borders.

A single high arch carries the pale bridge across the water in Tweed Valley, its reflection broken by slow ripples and shallows. Behind it, the broken walls and tall square tower of a church sit among deep green trees. Fields climb the surrounding hills in broad bands of gold and olive, and the river narrows into the distance beneath a soft, clouded sky.

Those familiar with Tweed Valley may recall an unhurried drive or walk through the Borders, passing river crossings, old stonework and cultivated slopes. The bridge gives the scene a firm centre, while the water leads the eye towards the familiar patchwork of farms and rounded hills beyond.
