This textile design features a symmetrical arrangement of floral and foliate motifs, characteristic of traditional Persian weaving techniques. The central field is dominated by a deep red ground, upon which various palmettes, scrolling vines, and stylised blossoms are distributed. The composition follows a repeating pattern, where mirrored elements create a sense of balance across the vertical axis.
The border provides a distinct contrast to the central field, utilising a darker, blue-toned ground to frame the lighter, more varied colours of the inner section. Within this border, a continuous vine motif winds through alternating floral shapes, guiding the eye around the perimeter of the piece.
