This work depicts the deity Vishnu in his form as Venkateshvara, a manifestation central to the pilgrimage traditions of Tirupati in South India. The figure of Vishnu stands at the centre, his skin rendered in a deep blue pigment, which signifies his divine nature. He is adorned with heavy jewellery, including multiple necklaces, armbands, and a tall, conical crown known as a kiritam. In his upper hands, he holds the chakra (discus) and the shankha (conch), symbols of his authority and cosmic function. His lower hands are positioned in traditional mudras, offering protection and grace to the devotee.

Flanking the central deity are two smaller figures, likely representing his consorts, Sridevi and Bhudevi. These figures mirror the posture and ornamentation of the primary deity, maintaining a balanced, symmetrical composition typical of the Tirupati style. The background is a warm, earthy tone, framed by a simple archway that suggests a temple sanctum. The artist employs a precise, linear approach to define the jewellery and textile patterns, creating a sense of density and texture across the surface of the paper.

Paintings from the Tirupati School were often produced for pilgrims visiting the Venkateshvara Temple.
