Description
Wadham Rocks rises in pale granite above a tide-washed ledge, its split arch and weathered faces catching the clear blue of the Devon coast.
Two upright stone towers dominate the near shore, linked high above the water by a slim natural bridge. Dark horizontal platforms lie at their feet, with patches of amber lichen breaking the pale cliff faces. A calm blue inlet opens beside the formation, and a low grassy headland recedes across the far side of the bay.
For anyone walking this stretch of Devon, Wadham Rocks brings the coast into close scale: firm rock underfoot, salt water moving through the gaps, and open ground beyond. The paired pillars give the shoreline a memorable point of arrival, especially when the light draws out their uneven surfaces.
