Description
Warboys in Cambridgeshire raises a tall pale church spire above green lawns, with red roofed houses and leafy trees beneath long cream clouds in the warm light of a summer afternoon.
This Huntingdonshire village stands on higher ground overlooking the fenland to the northeast. Its name appears in a Saxon charter of 974. A church and priest were recorded by the time of Domesday, and the present parish church occupies the southern end of the village.
Warboys has a tall pale stone spire above a square tower and long church roof. Pointed windows and a projecting porch face a broad green lawn. Red roofed houses stand behind a low wall on the left, surrounded by leafy trees. Long shadows cross the near grass beneath thin cream cloud bands, suggesting warm afternoon sunshine during summer.
