Description
West Kilbride opens North Ayrshire's coast beyond white roofs and green slopes, where a pale castle-like tower and distant Arran mountains connect the craft town with its Firth setting.
In North Ayrshire, West Kilbride is recognised as Scotland's first craft town. Studios and galleries support its contemporary identity, with the converted Barony Centre providing exhibition space. Adjoining Seamill brings the town close to the coast and views across the Firth of Clyde towards Arran.
From a grassy slope, white and grey-roofed houses spread through thick green trees. A pale battlemented tower rises at the right, while small church spires punctuate the town farther back. Beyond lies blue water and a long island mountain skyline. Full foliage and clear sunlight suggest summer, emphasising the contrast between the leafy settlement and the open coastal distance.
