Whaligoe meets the northern sea in a dramatic sweep of dark cliffs, ruined stonework and grass-bright headlands beneath a broad, shifting Highland summer sky.

Broken walls occupy the cliff edge, their tall chimney and empty arched openings cut sharply against banks of blue and white cloud. Below them, ledges step down to dark water; farther out, the coast folds into pale headlands and a quiet horizon. Small flowers and loose stones give the slope a close, weathered texture.
