Description
Whipsnade White Lion cuts a bold chalk figure across a rolling green hillside, with patchwork fields and soft clouds opening the view towards Bedfordshire.
The pale lion lies across a sweeping slope, its mane and tail picked out in broad curves against the turf. Tree-lined boundaries divide the farmland beyond, leading the eye towards a distant blue horizon. On the higher ground, scattered trees hold the edge of the slope beneath a sky full of rounded summer clouds.
Whipsnade White Lion is part of a wider Downs view that rewards a pause above the villages and fields. For local walkers and visitors, the large hillside figure fixes the viewpoint in memory without closing off the countryside around it. The open ground, field boundaries and long horizon give the place its sense of scale.
