Yorkshire Dales Hardraw Force pours in a white column between sunlit limestone ledges, its deep green pool and shaded rock shelves giving the waterfall a cool, secluded presence.
Ferny shrubs gather on the cliff rim, where bands of honey-coloured rock frame the falling water. Flat slabs lead across the foreground beside a still basin, catching touches of gold and blue-grey shade. Behind the cascade, darker recesses and leafy branches give the gorge a sense of depth.
