Description
Tamatori holds Fusasaki close as Fuhito reveals the bargain, with a coiled lifeline between them making her decision visible before the dangerous descent begins.
In the Shido tradition of Princess Tamatori, the diver's choice begins at home. After bearing Fusasaki, she hears why the jewel must be recovered so her son's future can be recognised, and the promise becomes a personal responsibility rather than a distant adventure. This scene holds the mother, child and visitor together before the sea claims the story.
This contemporary interpretation uses a tight triangular arrangement, a coastal interior and one coiled line that points forward to the water. The restrained palette gives the figures emotional weight while keeping the coming danger close to the edge of the frame. It is the first print in the four-scene story, where a family promise becomes an act of courage.
