The adulteress kneels in the foreground, her head bowed in shame. The figures are rendered with energetic lines and dramatic chiaroscuro, typical of Giordano's style. Architectural elements, such as columns and a distant building, provide a backdrop for the scene. The composition is dynamic, with figures arranged in a shallow space, creating a sense of immediacy and engagement.
