Theo van Doesburg (1883-1931) was a Dutch artist, architect, and theorist, a central figure in the De Stijl movement. The movement advocated for pure abstraction and simplicity, aiming to reflect a new utopian ideal of spiritual harmony and order. Van Doesburg extended these principles into architecture, design, and typography. He explored the relationship between art and life, seeking to integrate abstract principles into the everyday environment.
