Alberto Magnelli (1888-1971) was an Italian abstract artist. He began his artistic career painting in a figurative style, but by the 1930s, he had fully embraced abstraction. His work is characterised by geometric forms, bold colours, and a sense of dynamism. Magnelli was associated with the Parisian avant-garde, and his art reflects the influences of Cubism and Constructivism. 'Mystere vert' presents a composition of biomorphic shapes and geometric elements. The painting features a palette dominated by shades of green, ranging from deep forest to light teal. These colours are juxtaposed against a muted grey background, creating a sense of depth and contrast.
